The black beaches are the most special places in New Zealand. You can find it in some places all over the world but I have seen it the first time only here. Since it is one of my favourite places for photoshoots and simply relax. Luckily it takes only 30-40 min from Auckland to reach the west coast to enjoy black sand beaches. Piha, Karekare, and Muriwai the most popular but just a few of them.
Last weekend I had a walk on Muriwai beach with my family. It is a usual place to find surfers who trying to catch sometimes really great waves. It was beautiful weather and I had a chance to take a series of pictures in sun backlight to share with everyone such a stunning view.
While I was processing it at home, I liked the idea of tinting pictures in red colour and adding more vignetting to make the images more expressive. In some cases, this gave a dramatic effect. I hope you like the result as much as I do.
